Blobfest 2021 tickets are on sale soon!
The Colonial Theatre has been a staple in Pheonixville since 1903. This iconic theatre hosts independent films and a number of special programing events throughout the year. The theatre is run by the Association for the Colonial Theater (ACT). ACT is a non profit 501c3 organization, and Blobfest is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
Why Blobfest? The 1958 Steve McQueen film ‘The Blob’ was filmed locally, and the theater scene in the movie (where The Blob comes out of the projector screen to attack the audience) was filmed at the Colonial Theatre!
Kristen speaks with Chuck Francisco, a longtime Blobfest committee member, film curator and host at the Colonial Theatre. Chuck shares the details on this year’s 22nd Annual Blobfest celebration. The festival will take place July 9-11, 2021. Watch from the comfort of home, or anywhere! Blobfest will again be celebrated virtually again this year, as there are no public festivals permitted in the borough of Phoenixville until October 1st.
