Marilyn chats with local guy Josh Piven. He is a television writer and producer, speechwriter, playwright, and the author or co-author of more than twenty non-fiction and humor books, including the worldwide best-selling The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook series (Chronicle Books), This Green House (Stewart, Tabori, and Chang), As Luck Would Have It (Villard), and The Escape Artists (McGraw-Hill). He wrote the teleplay and serves as producer of Don The Beekeeper, a half-hour children’s TV show about honeybees and urban beekeeping. In 2013, he brought the holiday farce, No Reservations to the stage with great success and critical acclaim. Now he shares his latest theatrical effort, Muddled.
And also, Marilyn has Kory Aversa, Aversa PR – PR Man About Town with details on Dinner En Blanc celebrating their 5th Anniversary in Philly this year…and updates on many of the Summer-time Beer Gardens popping up all over town this Summer.
Then Chuck Volz, Senior Advisor of Philly Gay Pride joins Kristen in the studio again this year to talk about Philadelphia’s 28th Annual Pride Parade and Festival going on Sunday, June 12th. A day full of fun and entertainment, the parade starts at 11:30am at 13th and Locust Streets and heads all the way down Market Street to the festival gates at Penn’s Landing. Both the parade and festival are bigger and better than ever this year, with over 140 organizations participating and featuring entertainment including Deborah Cox, Jade Sterling and Rod Stewart and Donna Summer tribute artists!
