First, Marilyn talks with Crystal Brewe, VP of Marketing for the Kimmel Center.  She has all the details on the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts from April 8th through April 23rf. A 16-day celebration of art and community, PIFA showcases innovation and a breadth of local and international performances and installations, all curated by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. With more than 60 events across genres and art forms, PIFA is bookended by Article 13 – a grand-scale fire and sand installation that tells the story of immigrants around the world – which serves as the grand opening of the Festival and culminates with the celebrated PIFA Street Fair. Then, long-time friend to BEN-FM and CEO of the American Red Cross of Eastern PA, Judge Renee Cardwell Hughes stops by to talk with Kristen about the Red Cross ‘Red Ball’ on Saturday, April 2nd at 8pm. Philadelphia’s premiere party with a purpose –  with funds raised at the ball supporting the operation of Red Cross House (see video below), The Center for Disaster Recovery. Marilyn chats with 2 of the coordinators of the Officer Brad Fox Memorial 5K. Darren Meehan, who is the Executive Director, and Tom D’Aurizio, who is the Media Coordinator.  The 5K takes place on Saturday, April 2nd at the Officer Bradley M. Fox Memorial Highway (event staging at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, PA). Officer Brad Fox was a Warminster native, a USMC veteran who served two tours in Iraq and was a member of the Plymouth Township Police Department. He was murdered in the line of duty in September 2012 and leaves behind a wife and two children. For more info, click HERE.
