First, Marilyn speaks with March Schultz of the Delaware Valley A.B.A.T.E. (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education) organization and Sgt. Luis of the US Marines along with Nicky Luke about the 35th Annual Delaware Valley A.B.A.T.E. Toy Run “For the Kids”, supported by the United States Marine Corps on Sunday, November 1st. This year’s event will feature a parade and concert, and will continue to provide toys to children throughout the Delaware Valley. This coming Thursday, October 29th at 11am – Tony Luke’s will be hosting a Toys For Tots event, along with BEN-FM at their South Philly location at Front and Oregon. Next, Kristen’s interview with Melissa Levy – the Executive Director of PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) about the incredible work they are doing for animals in the city of Philadelphia and about their Mutt Strut and Fall Festival – Saturday morning, October 24th – one of the group’s most crucial fundraisers. Featuring a 3 mile walk, a pet costume contest, agility course, ‘Ask the Vet’, live music, ‘Ask the Trainer’, pet portraits and more – this annual event and fundraiser is not to be missed! Then, Marilyn sits down with Steve of Steve’s Prince of Steaks along with Event Planner, Dave Feldman, to talk about Philadelphia’s 1st ever Cheesesteak Festival – going on this Saturday, October 24th. Dave shared all the details of the day…40-different cheesesteak vendors, live music, those considered to be the top 10 Best Cheesesteak makers in our area, and lots lots more. The festival begins at 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. The Works are already sold out, but for GA, a few tickets remain. Steve’s Prince of Steaks has the honor of making the largest cheesesteak ever made – going for a record-breaking 500 ft long!
