Tune in to Marilyn’s conversation with Allison Vulgamore, an artistic visionary who within her first 6-months with The Philadelphia Orchestra helped recruit conductor Yannick Nezet-Sequin as Music Director; only the 8th MD in the 115-year history of the Orchestra! That’s just the beginning of the incredible contributions she is making here-did you know The Philadelphia Orchestra holds “playIN’s?” I didn’t either. Allison has expanded the Orchestra’s comitment to community engagement, creating a new focus on collaborative learning that brings together people in such collective music-making activities as pop-up performances, PlayINs, free events held throughout the neighborhoods and a Free Concert for Giving Tuesday. And, there’s a “LiveNotes” APP you need to know about as well!
There’s several upcoming events (in January alone) you may want to attend, i.e. MLK Day, the 159th Anniversary Concert & Ball on 1/23 and many more – so tune in, sign up and support the Orchestra and the Arts in Philly!
