Standard Tap and Johnny Brenda’s William Reed and Brian O’Reilly of Sly Fox Brewing Company stopped by the morning show with Matt and Kristen to kick off the 10th Annual Philly Beer Week last Thursday. Philly Beer Week continues this weekend through Sunday, June 11th with great beer tastings, lectures, pairings and other events all day, every day, all over the city. Find info and events at PhillyLovesBeer.org.

Then, Germantown native, Temple Graduate, and our good friend Quincy Harris stops by the BEN-FM morning show to talk about his show ‘The Q‘ which is GOING NATIONAL!!! ‘The Q’ airs on Fox 29 at weekdays at noon, and has just been picked up for a test run in seven other major cities: Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Detroit, Pheonix and Charlotte. This week Chad Collins and Gabe Young return to BEN Around Philly to talk about the Young Innovators Fair, a K-12 STEM Learning Experience, going on at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks all day Saturday (6/9) and Sunday (6/10). With free parking, 20,000 attendees, and over 150,000 square feet hosting 130 attractions and shows – this is a can’t miss event for kids and parents alike. Check out the show’s 10 Innovation Worlds: Builders Boulevard, Pilots Pad, Lab-Rats Lair, Robots Retreat, Numbers Nation, Performers Paradise, Sorcerers Square, Conservationists Corner, Hackers Hideout and Biologists Bay (with live animals!) – or take in a show at one of the show’s 3 stages with performances scheduled all weekend long. Saturday and Sunday (June 9th and 10th) from 10am-5pm. Buy tickets at the door or check HERE for tickets and more information.

Motown the Musical opened at the Academy of Music last Tuesday evening. The show runs now through Sunday, June 11th and it’s got OVER 50 SONGS in it. All of your favorite Motown songs are featured and in such a fun way. With Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five (with a killer young Michael Jackson) and more, the show tells the story of Berry Gordy Jr.s life and the start of Motown Records with all of the amazing artists on the legendary label. It’s a blast and the talent is incredible, especially the Berry Gordy character, played by Chester Gregory. The show is filled with stars, but somehow he still stands out. Listen as Kristen (gushes) speaks with Gregory about the show and his fantastic performance, then go see the show. You’ll love it. Buy tickets HERE.
