Motown the Musical opened at the Academy of Music on Tuesday evening. The show runs now through Sunday, June 11th and it’s got OVER 50 SONGS in it. All of your favorite Motown songs are featured and in such a fun way. With Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five (with a killer young Michael Jackson) and more, the show tells the story of Berry Gordy Jr.s life and the start of Motown Records with all of the amazing artists on the legendary label. It’s a blast and the talent is incredible, especially the Berry Gordy character, played by Chester Gregory. The show is filled with stars, but somehow he still stands out. Listen as Kristen (gushes) speaks with Gregory about the show and his fantastic performance, then go see the show. You’ll love it. Buy tickets HERE.
Then, Standard Tap and Johnny Brenda’s William Reed and Brian O’Reilly of Sly Fox Brewing Company stopped by the morning show with Matt and Kristen to kick off the 10th Annual Philly Beer Week on Thursday. Philly Beer Week is actually a little over a week and runs from June 1st through the 11th with great beer tastings, lectures, pairings and other events all day, every day, all over the city. Find info and events at PhillyLovesBeer.org.
Then, Sharon Pinkenson, Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office joins Matt and Kristen on the morning show to promote a rally happening Saturday morning for the Philadelphia film industry.
