Preakness at the Piazza, Dirty Dancing at the Merriam Theater, 7th Annual Burger Brawl, and Dentistry from the Heart with Dental Health Care Associates

BEN Around Philly airs every Saturday morning at 7am on 95.7 BEN-FM and is sponsored by The Fillmore Philadelphia.

On this week's episode, Sheel Bhuta and the 5th Annual Preakness at the Piazza, Dirty Dancing at the Merriam Theater, the 7th Annual Burger Brawl, and Dr. Lance and Dental Health Care Associates offer free Dentistry from the Heart

This week, Sheel Bhuta of Philly PR Girl joins Kristen in studio to talk about the 5th Annual Preakness at the Piazza - Saturday, May 20th at the Piazza at Schmidts. The party brings together over 1,200 guests each year to support the National MS Society donned in their best derby attire. Grab your bowties, hats and fascinators and come enjoy great food, entertainment, a fashion contest and of course Black-Eyed Susan cocktails, plus watch the 142nd Preakness Stakes on the Piazza's 400 square foot LED screen. Sheel is kind enough to share her incredible story and personal battle with MS and talks about the importance of the event to the over 15,000 people living with MS in the Greater Delaware Valley. Buy your tickets and find more information about Preakness at the Piazza HERE.

On Tuesday evening, Kristen had the opportunity to check out the latest show from Broadway Philadelphia and the Kimmel Center - Dirty Dancing! Be sure to check it out at the Merriam Theater now through this Sunday, May 21st. Christopher Tierney (of Broadway's Spiderman) who plays Johnny Castle and Rachel Boone who plays Frances "Baby" Houseman stopped by the BEN-FM studio to talk about the show (and graciously allow Kristen to gush over them and their incredible performance the night prior). With all of your favorite lines and songs from the classic film, the stage show features a strong cast of 26 and will have you dancing in your seat from beginning to end.  Find more information and buy your tickets now at

Then, Matt and Kristen were joined by some special burger (and taco, and cocktail) loving guests on Monday morning, who stopped by (with delicious food and drinks) to talk about this year's 7th Annual Burger Brawl. Listen as Rob Wasserman (co-founder of Burger Brawl and owner of Rouge and other Philly hot spots), Daniel Stern (owner of R2L), Chris Barnes (owner of Lucky's Last Chance), and Pete and Rachel (from Vintage Wine Bar) give the details on this awesome event. Both Matt and Kristen will be judges at the event this year. Join them at Xfinity Live! on Sunday, May 21st, and come hungry for this authentic Burger Brawl, Cut Throat Cocktail competition, King of the Wing contest and Taco Takedown. General admission for the event is at 3pm and includes one alcoholic drink as well as unlimited samples from over 60 of the best burgers, tacos, and wings in Philadelphia. Vote for your favorite.  VIP admission is at 2pm and includes a first class open bar and unlimited samples of the 60 top restaurants, plus the opportunity to mix and mingle with celebrity judges. All for a great cause! Over $200,000 has been donated by Burger Brawl towards literacy in Philadelphia public elementary schools. Find more info and purchase your tickets HERE.

Then, the most positive experience Kristen has had with a dentist to date! Matt Cord invited his dentist, Dr. Lance Panarello to the BEN-FM Morning Show studio to talk about the 12th Annual Dentistry from the Heart Event on Saturday, May 20th. Held at Dental Health Care Associates' location at 5000 Chichester Avenue, the event offers free dental services as a part of an international movement to help people without access to care. With teeth cleanings, fillings and even extractions offered FREE OF CHARGE - Dr. Lance and 50 other Dental Health Care Associates staff members donate their time and resources to help those in need of dental care, with no insurance required and at no cost to the patient. In addition to dental services, this amazing event has entertainment and food for all. To register, e-mail or call and leave a message at (610) 485-1991 with your name, cell phone number, and which dental service you would like.
