Otherworld Philadelphia Opens Interactive Art Installation

If you're looking for an out-of-this-world art experience in Philadelphia, look no further than Otherworld Philadelphia. Spanning 40,000 square feet in a former Northeast Philadelphia warehouse, the experience offers guests immersive, interactive art to explore at their own pace amid 55 rooms and large-scale, glowing installations.

According to Otherworld Philadelphia's website, the experience is described as "a surreal landscape of science fiction and fantasy." Visitors step into a luminous entryway and are asked to imagine that they're citizens of the ancient civilization of Atam, "a city of perfection and order." During their visit, guests make their way through the mystical city — and explore outside its borders — assembling clues and solving puzzles to learn the hidden stories behind Atam's origins.

The website Islands reported that there is no fixed route for guests, who can experience a personal, exploratory journey through dreamlike rooms such as melted ice cream, a giant tent, a light-and-water show, and a New Orleans funeral room with mirrors for photo moments.

More than 100 contributing artists created the installations that have been praised for their visual captivation, fantasy atmosphere, and time-immersive quality.

Timed-entry tickets start at $29.99 per person with family discounts available. Tickets can be purchased on Otherworld's website. It is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and until 10 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, Otherworld is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Otherworld Philadelphia is an approximately 30-minute drive (or an hour on public transit) from 30th Street Station.
