Caputo & Guest, a family-owned growers of mushrooms based in Kennett Square, has launched a direct-to-consumer website to offer fresh, locally grown gourmet mushrooms to consumers nationwide.

Fresh, organic specialty mushrooms are now available for direct purchase on the company's website.

"We built Caputo & Guest on the belief that controlled-environment agriculture can produce exceptional food when sustainability and craftsmanship come first," said General Manager Jeffery D. Guest Jr. "This platform brings our farm directly to consumers — no middlemen, no compromises."

Caputo & Guest uses a proprietary manure-free cultivation method in controlled indoor environments. Mushrooms are grown on a blend of organic oak and poplar sawdust, along with grains, to reduce waste and conserve water. Located in Kennett Square, known as the Mushroom Capital of the World, Caputo & Guest has been cultivating premium mushrooms since 1977.

The product lineup features Lion's Mane and Oyster mushroom varieties. In addition to fresh mushrooms, the website also features recipes, cooking inspiration, and educational content on mushrooms and their role in food sustainability.

The launch of the website aligns with consumer trends for plant-based foods, functional ingredients, and local produce, positioning Caputo & Guest at the crossroads of these consumer interests.
