Philadelphia has opened a new 7,000-square-foot miniature soccer pitch in the prelude to the 2026 FIFA World Cup games this summer. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday, April 3.
Titled the Vivint + NRG Pitch, the 7,000-square-foot mini soccer field at Dilworth Park sits near where the pickleball courts used to be and not far away from the FIFA World Cup countdown clock. It covers the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn next to City Hall.
Guests can also find cornhole, giant lawn games, and chairs to enjoy in the space. The mini pitch is free to use and open to the public at Dilworth Park in Center City through October, according to a CBS News Philadelphia report.

The space will also host cultural performances and free fitness classes, and complement the Center City District's upcoming programming in Dilworth Park and beyond. These activities include a “Made in Philadelphia Market Series” from April 10 to 12 and its Open Streets days starting Sunday, April 5.
“Dilworth Park is at the center of everything, and we're excited to be the host and the central hub for all of the visitors that will be walking around and enjoying Philadelphia this summer,” said Amy Genda, Center City's District's vice president of strategy and design, in a statement shared with Billy Penn at WHYY.
“We're going to have people coming from all over the world. So that's another reason why this space is so important, for people to have a place to land, come relax, sit, enjoy the time, but also still be a part of the excitement,” said Keri Murschell, NRG's director of community sponsorship and marketing.
Philadelphia will host six World Cup matches at the Linc and a free 39-day fan festival at Lemon Hill.
