In its popular annual 10 Best Readers' Choice poll, USA TODAY named The Doo Wop Experience Museum and Neon Sign Garden in New Jersey among the best pop culture museums in the United States. The museum ranked No. 7 in the top 10 list.
Here's what USA TODAY had to say about this popular museum:
"The Doo Wop Experience Museum and Neon Sign Garden brings the joy of doo-wop music and nostalgia of the '50s and '60s back to Wildwood, New Jersey. Inside this architecturally iconic museum — which used to be a restaurant known as the Surfside — visitors can enjoy learning about, listening to, and viewing artifacts about doo-wop. Outside the museum, they can check out the Neon Sign Garden or listen to live music at the bandshell."

According to New Jersey Family, museum visitors can witness a "menu from Zaberer's, Tiffany lamps, a Jetsons-esque Super Wawa sign, the Casbah and Playpen signs, stylish ashtrays, a Wurlitzer jukebox, hanging bicycles, caricatures, and old-time kitchen appliances. There's also a malt shop that looks like an old-fashioned candy counter."
The Doo Wop Experience Museum is at 4500 Ocean Ave. in Wildwood. Operating hours are 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays during the spring and fall, 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays, and 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the summer. While the museum is currently closed for the season, it will reopen on Mother's Day weekend. Admission is free, but tours of the neon lights require a ticket.
