It's no exaggeration to say Philadelphia will be one epic place to visit in 2026 with celebrations commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States to significant sports and cultural events. The City of Brotherly Love is going all out for residents and visitors. Below are some of the many activities that await this year:
- The Universal Theme Parks: The Exhibition debuts on Feb. 14 at the Franklin Institute, in collaboration with Universal Destinations & Experiences. The experience features interactive galleries and artifacts.
- The Philadelphia Flower Show will run from Feb. 28 to March 8 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Visitors can experience dynamic horticultural designs, live demonstrations, and vendor offerings.
- Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments opens at the Philadelphia Art Museum in late April. It will feature more than 150 works from over 50 artists.
- Bear Country at the Philadelphia Zoo is undergoing a $20 million renovation, adding new habitats and sustainability features set to debut in the spring.
- The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival will run from June 4 through Aug. 2, transforming Franklin Square with handcrafted lantern sculptures on exhibit through early August.
- The Wawa Welcome America festival runs from June 19 through July 4. It will offer free arts, culture, music, and history events across Independence Hall and other venues.
- Philadelphia is one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The city will host five Group Stage matches — June 14, June 19, June 22, June 25, and June 27 — and a Round of 16 match on the nation's semiquincentennial, July 4. The FIFA FanFestival will also take place at Lemon Hill in Philadelphia's East Fairmount Park neighborhood, offering game-watching screens, food, entertainment, and more.
- The best baseball players in the United States will come to Philadelphia for the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park. The game will follow a week of all-star sporting events.
