According to the group's website, the Angelus Chorus was founded in 1965 as part of the now-shuttered Angelus Convalescent Home, which was once located at 314 E. Pine Ave. near the Wildwood Boardwalk. The center was operated mainly by nuns who cared for older adults.
To encourage students seeking to develop a career in music or the arts, this spring, the Angelus Chorus created a scholarship open to high school seniors in Cape May County. The one-year, $2,000 scholarship was awarded to a graduating senior who is attending college to study vocal or choral music or the performing arts.
