Trader Joe’s, Kroger’s Recall Fruit Sold in Delaware, PA

If you've recently purchased some fresh peaches, listen up: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published a recall announcement for Moonlight Companies, which is "voluntarily recalling California-grown conventional yellow and white peaches" due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. 

According to the announcement, the recalled peaches were sold in stores across the United States between Sept. 16 and Oct. 29, both individually and in multipacks. The announcement clarified that the recall does not include peaches bearing a PLU or words "Washington" and/or "Organic" on them.

The recall was prompted after inspectors found Listeria monocytogenes in the "packing facility environment."

According to a Food & Wine report, the recalled individual yellow or white peaches will have a small sticker with PLU 4401 or 4044 and one of the following lot codes

The multipacks will have UPCs 8 10248 03165 6 or 8 98429 00209 1, with the same lot codes as the individual packs. Multipacks of white peaches labeled "Peppermint Peaches" have UPCs 8 98429 00266 4, 8 10248 03163 2, 8 10248 03087 1, or 8 10248 03186 1. Additionally, there is one set of multipacks of yellow peaches sold under the Kroger brand label with UPC 11110 18174 and the same lot codes as noted above.

Trader Joe's noted that the peaches were sold in its stores in several states, including Delaware and Pennsylvania.

The grocery chain stated that if you purchased Moonlight Yellow Peaches from Trader Joe's in the affected states during the specified date range, "please discard them or return them to your local Trader Joe's for a refund."
