Philadelphia drivers and commuters should expect widespread road closures and parking restrictions this Saturday, October 18, due to two major events happening back-to-back: the 2025 Philly Bike Ride and the No Kings 2.0 March and Rally, according to a city press release from Phila.gov.

The Philly Bike Ride kicks off at 7:30 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m., featuring a 20-mile car-free course stretching from Manayunk to Penn’s Landing with scenic stops along Kelly Drive, Market Street, and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Streets in the course area will begin closing as early as 3:30 a.m., with full restrictions in place by 6:30 a.m. and reopening progressively by mid-afternoon. Major closures include Market Street, Kelly Drive, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and Eakins Oval.

According to the City, street parking will also be restricted on key corridors like Parkway, Logan Square, Arch Street, and Market Street beginning at midnight. SE PTA bus routes—including Routes 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, 44, and others—will be detoured throughout the morning. Riders can check detour maps and service updates at septa.org or via @SEPTA_Social on X.

At 11 a.m., crowds will begin assembling at City Hall for the No Kings 2.0 March, which steps off at 12:30 p.m. The march will travel east along John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Juniper Street, and Market Street, before concluding with a rally at Independence Mall until around 3:30 p.m. Rolling road closures will continue during the march, with police reopening streets once cleared.

Drivers should avoid Center City if possible and use alternate routes. The City advises all residents to obey posted “No Parking” signs and follow directions from the Philadelphia Police Department. For real-time updates, sign up for ReadyPhiladelphia text alerts by texting ReadyPhila to 888-777.

Expect residual traffic delays across Center City into the afternoon, especially near Independence Mall, Penn’s Landing, and Kelly Drive, as closures are lifted throughout the day.
