Tom Pelphrey Hosts Visitors in Delco While Filming ‘Task’

Actor Tom Pelphrey, 43, felt a strong sense of home during the filming of HBO's Task in Delaware County. Visits from his fiancée, Kaley Cuoco, 39; their daughter, Matilda, 2; and close relatives helped create a supportive environment for him.

Task premiered on HBO on Sept. 7. New episodes of Task will be released on HBO every Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern and will be simultaneously available to stream on HBO Max. 

According to the logline for the show, “Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent (Mark Ruffalo) heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey).”

“This was one of the great things about the job — where we were filming, I rented a house and Kaley and Matilda were with me, but also my family's so close that they could come and visit,” Pelphrey said in an interview with People. “My mom came at least once a week. Grandma got to see Matilda; Matilda loves her grandma. My grandmother got to come, so Matilda got to spend time with her great-grandma.” 

Matilda, who was 15 months old during her first visit to the set in July 2024, visited again during filming, a moment shared and documented by Cuoco on Instagram.

Pelphrey, who was born and raised in Howell Township, New Jersey, attended college in-state at Rutgers. He and Cuoco were set up by their mutual manager. The couple welcomed Matilda in March 2023 and got engaged in August 2024.
