IKEA has opened its third storefront in New Jersey with a new format.
The Swedish furnishings company has started operating a new "Plan & Order Point with Pick-up Location" this summer in Cherry Hill. Rather than offering the complete retail shopping experience available at traditional IKEA stores, the Cherry Hill location provides planning services for significant home furnishing projects like bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchens.
The new IKEA store is in the Ellisburg Shopping Center at 22 Route 70, marking the company's third location in New Jersey. Two traditional IKEA stores operate in Elizabeth and Paramus.
“We can't wait to bring our expertise in room planning and the ease of order pickup to the residents of South Jersey — without ever having to cross a bridge,” said Michael Hill, deputy market manager of IKEA South Philadelphia, to NJ.com.
Additionally, the new Cherry Hill store will serve as a pick-up point for online orders, enabling IKEA customers to retrieve their purchases without paying delivery fees.
“This new location highlights our commitment to bring IKEA closer to many people and make it easier and more affordable to access our home furnishing products and solutions,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer of IKEA U.S., in a statement to NJ.com.
