Music, art, and entertainment will celebrate Atlantic City's authentic creativity during the 48 Blocks Atlantic City celebration on Saturday, Sept. 20.
As the flagship program of the Atlantic City Arts Foundation, the 48 Blocks Festival is the city's largest mural arts program. According to New Jersey Stage, the event will feature two stages of local live music, poetry, and theater, plus a full slate of arts activities, an artist marketplace, restaurant pop-ups, and more.
According to Atlantic City Arts Foundation's (ACAF), the festival derives its name from the 48 blocks that comprise Atlantic City.
Public art created for 48 Blocks Atlantic City is on display throughout the city, featuring murals, Adirondack chairs, and container planters. The festival highlights projects developed by the city's residents and visitors, all celebrating Atlantic City pride. An interactive map highlighting the locations of the murals is available on the ACAF website, where attendees and participants can find more information about the festival.
The ACAF is a nonprofit public arts organization dedicated to increasing access to public art and fostering community art education in Atlantic City. By creating programs and partnerships, ACAF fosters arts-based tourism and economic development initiatives while boosting community pride and civic self-esteem. The ACAF organizes several community projects and programs, including 48 Blocks, Chalk About AC, and ARTeriors.
