If you’ve picked up fresh ground beef or pork from the ShopRite on Chester Pike in Eddystone recently, there’s some important news you should know. On July 15, ShopRite issued a recall for all fresh, in-store ground meat sold at its Delaware County location after staff discovered metal fragments—believed to be from a damaged grinder—in products processed on July 14.

Which Products Are Included in the Recall?

ShopRite has pulled all ground meat processed in-house that day, which includes:

  • 80%, 85%, and 93% lean ground beef
  • Ground pork
  • Meatloaf mix

Any of these products with a sell-by date of July 14 could be affected.

What Should Shoppers Do?

If you purchased any of these meats, do not consume them. Instead, return them to the store for a full refund or replacement. ShopRite is also making it easy for Price Plus® club card customers: refunds will be automatically credited to your card—no receipt necessary.

Is the Rest of the Store’s Meat Safe?

Yes—the recall only affects fresh, store-ground meats produced at the Eddystone location on July 14. Pre-packaged meats from other suppliers and products made at other ShopRite locations are not involved in the recall.

Have There Been Any Injuries?

Currently, no injuries related to this recall have been reported.
