Philadelphia’s most chaotic and beloved fun run is back! The 2025 Gritty 5K Presented by Penn Medicine returns on Saturday, October 4, just ahead of the Flyers vs. Devils preseason game at the Wells Fargo Center. Registration is now open at runsignup.com/Gritty5K, with a special early bird price of $55 for the first 48 hours.
This isn’t your typical 5K. Led by the one and only Gritty, this fur-fueled, glitter-splashed dash takes runners, walkers, and costumed “Gritizens” through a 3.1-mile course that starts and ends at the Wells Fargo Center Complex and winds through FDR Park. Expect surprises at every turn—from confetti cannons to karaoke stops and even a “Get Grittified with West” station during FanFest, where you can complete your look with orange boas and face paint.
Blair Listino, Chair of Flyers Charities and Flyers Alternate Governor, describes the event as “part run, part fever dream, and entirely Philly.” The Gritty 5K is a unique opportunity to be active, give back to the community, and embrace your wild side.
