A new biopic detailing the life and history of world-famous chocolate maker Milton S. Hershey has wrapped up filming in Pennsylvania.
According Patriot-News, the film's director, Mark Waters, and the cast spent seven weeks filming at 17 locations throughout the state, mainly in the Pittsburgh area. Scenes for the film were taped in Hershey, Harmony, Smithfield, and Ligonier.
Filmmakers created more than 70 extensively designed sets and obtained close to 300 period-accurate costumes and more than 2,000 background costumes for the production.
The biopic, called Hershey, is set to release in 2026, just in time for America's 250th anniversary celebration. No details have been announced regarding whether the film will be available for streaming or will be released exclusively in theaters.
The movie details Hershey's legacy from a struggling businessman to an individual who created an enduring legacy as one of the leading confectioners, entrepreneurs, and innovators of his time.
Hershey stars Finn Wittrock as Milton Hershey, and Alexandra Daddario as his wife, Catherine “Kitty” Hershey. It also features David Costabile, Francesca Faridany, Richard Kind, Michael Moreland Milligan, Alan Ruck, Dina Spybey-Waters, Daniel David Stewart, and Heléne Yorke.
“As we wrap, I feel most grateful to the people of Pennsylvania who have supported us and actively participated in making this shoot a success,” Waters said in a media statement.
