The Philadelphia Phillies are partnering with Philadelphia Soccer 2026 to organize a block party outside Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, June 22, that will serve as a prelude to Philadelphia hosting the 2026 MLB All-Star Game and FIFA World Cup next year.

The free event will begin at 2 p.m. Food trucks and a beer garden will be available at the Sports Complex before the Phillies host the New York Mets that evening. Activities will include a speed pitch machine and a soccer skills course where participants can test their shooting and agility skills. Additional games, giveaways, and music from Go Go Gadjet and Mr. Hollywood DJ will be offered.

According to a PhillyVoice report, the block party is part of this year's schedule for the Wawa Welcome America Celebration. The event concludes with Fourth of July fireworks and a concert featuring headliner LL Cool J and Jazmine Sullivan.

In addition to hosting the MLB All-Star Game next July at Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia will be one of 11 U.S. cities that will welcome matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Lincoln Financial Field will host six matches. Five will be in the Group stage next June, and one will be in the round of 16 on the Fourth of July.

This summer, eight soccer matches are coming to the Linc as part of the Club World Cup. Competitors represent a tournament of club teams from domestic leagues worldwide.
