The City of Philadelphia has extended its SEPTA Key Advantage Program, which will permit city workers to ride SEPTA's buses, trains, and trolleys free of charge. The benefit will remain in place through June 30, 2026.
The SEPTA Key Advantage Program gives City workers a SEPTA Key Card that functions like a monthly pass.
Who Can Receive a SEPTA Key Card?
Individuals who qualify for a free SEPTA Key Card include full-time, part-time, and provisional City employees. Workers who are not eligible to receive the key card are temporary employees who are not eligible for sick leave, police officers, workers older than 65, city contractors, and retired workers.
Where Can the SEPTA Key Card Be Used?
The SEPTA Key Card can be used for all SEPTA services:
- Buses
- CCT and Norristown High Speed Line
- Regional Rail (all zones)
- Subways and elevated trains
- Trolleys
Individuals can use the SEPTA Key Card to ride up to 240 times per month.
How Can a City Employee Get a Free SEPTA Key Card?
Individuals who want to request a free SEPTA Key Card should contact their HR team for eligibility. The card will need to be registered online at SEPTAKey.org. Individuals will then need to visit Jawnt to enroll in the City's program.
Employees who want to use their free rides need to enroll by June 25 to receive their benefit for the following month.
