Philadelphia native Jazmine Sullivan will join rapper and actor LL Cool J in headlining the Wawa Welcome America Fourth of July concert.

The concert is part of Wawa Welcome America, Philadelphia's annual 16-day festival that culminates in a Fourth of July celebration with a fireworks display. The Wawa Welcome America July 4th concert will take place on Friday, July 4, on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. You can watch it live on NBC10, the NBC10 streaming channel, and the NBC10 app.

During a news conference for the event on Tuesday, May 6, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker called Sullivan, a Grammy-winning artist, "a hometown hero whose career has reached the stratosphere," according to a CBS News Philadelphia report. Parker also hinted that more names of acts would be forthcoming.

According to NBC10 Philadelphia, Sullivan was born in Philadelphia. Her mother, Pam Sullivan, served as a backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Sullivan's family moved into the Historic Strawberry Mansion in Philadelphia after her father became a curator at the residence.

Sullivan graduated from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts and has released four studio albums. Her 2008 debut “Fearless” went platinum, and her most recent album, “Heaux Tales,” secured gold.

Sullivan is also known for hit singles such as “Need U Bad,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B and Hip-Hop Songs chart, “Bust Your Windows,” and “Pick Up Your Feelings.”

The 2025 Wawa Welcome America festival is a prelude to the 2026 celebration for America's 250th anniversary.
