The Salty Mermaid Bar & Grille Returns to North Wildwood

After a year-long operational hiatus, the Salty Mermaid Bar & Grille in North Wildwood reopened on Thursday, May 1, for the 2025 season.

The restaurant originally shuttered its doors in 2023. In 2024, the business reopened under new management as the Ocean Bay Coastal Grille & Bar. While the restaurant offered a distinctive take on coastal cuisine, the guest and dining experience wasn't the same as its Salty Mermaid predecessor.

According to a report by Wildwood Video Archive, the original Salty Mermaid team returned this year to bring the establishment back to its customer-familiar beginnings. The full menu launched with the restaurant's reopening, although seating is inside-only for the time being. Seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis; the restaurant is not accepting reservations at this time.

The Wildwood Video Archive team also reported that the Salty Mermaid's bar has reopened with new specialty cocktails, 20 beers on tap, and an expanded wine selection.

The restaurant's management will honor any unused Salty Mermaid gift cards from 2023 and prior years but will not accept any gift cards from the 2024 business concept Ocean Bay Coastal Grille & Bar. 

The Salty Mermaid Bar & Grille is at 2507 Delaware Ave. in North Wildwood. It is open Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
