Backstreet Boys Member’s Son Auditions for American Idol Season 23
At 22, Baylee Littrell is joining American Idol‘s 23rd season as a contestant. The son of Backstreet Boys‘ Brian Littrell has already released two country albums since 2019.
The Atlanta native got his start performing at just 9 years old, opening shows for the Backstreet Boys. He showed his natural talent early on, landing a Broadway role when he was 13.
He’s put out two major releases – “770-Country” in 2019 and “EP Vol. One” in 2022. One of his biggest musical moments includes working with Tyler Hubbard.
His connection to entertainment started early. His mom, Leighanne, met Brian while filming a video in 1997, leading to both their marriage and his musical journey. Brian now helps his son navigate the music business.

In 2008, he faced a health challenge with an atypical Kawasaki syndrome diagnosis. He bounced back, developing his talent in church choirs and winning local competitions.
While his dad made it big in pop music, Baylee loves country. Still, his sound blends both styles to create something unique.
Getting on American Idol is his next big move after years of building his career. The show could help him reach millions of new fans.
He’s grown from those early childhood shows into his own performer. Even with his famous background, he’s making his own way.
The new season will put him up against other talented singers. It’s his shot to make a name for himself on national TV. The season premiere airs Sunday, March 9th, ET on ABC.
