If you’ve experienced it, you know what I’m talking about. The chill in the air, the fact that concessions stands are selling hot chocolate, and going home and not being able to sleep because of how loud your ears are ringing. The costumes, the witty signs, the Philly-fan inside jokes, and the deafening roar of the crowd.

Am I painting a good enough picture?

There are so many components that make a Red October game as magical as it is. Citizens Bank Park comes alive. The city of Philadelphia unites for one common purpose. We troll other teams, we support the hell out of our own, and we hope to everything that is holy for a win.

The Philadelphia Phillies organization sees it. The media sees it. We all see it. Postseason at the bank is pure magic. A sports unicorn, if you will. So yes, you look at tickets, see those triple-digit numbers, and have a tough decision to make. When you go, though, you realize that the scene before you is worth every dollar. Every measly penny.

The Phillies seem to simply play better in October. There's nothing like a Phillies postseason berth. They understand the stakes and the pressure, and they thrive. The Bryson Stott grand slam from the Wild Card round in this 2023 season is a prime example. Or the clutch catch from Johan Rojas that helped prevent a Game 5 in the NLDS and helped us get to the NLCS. It’s a feast for baseball-loving eyes.

Wow. It is a pressure cooker at The Bank in October. If there were a roof, the fans would have blown it off already. If just being a part of that insanely loud crowd noise and indomitable Philly fan spirit doesn’t sell you on postseason tickets, I don’t know what else will. Being part of a crowd that parties hard after every win, even Game 1 wins, makes the tickets worth the price.

The stars come out for the Phillies postseason. Just this season alone, we’ve seen the cast of “Always Sunny,” the Kelce brothers, Tim McGraw, and TONS of former-Phillies greats. Your ticket is made worth it when you realize you’re sitting 50 feet from Miles Teller, you know?

Everyone feels good and it shows. In 2023, Phillies owner, John Middleton, tossed baseballs to fans after a win, for example. Normal owners don’t interact with fans like this, but we love him and he loves us. During Red October, if you’re in that ballpark, everyone loves everyone (that is unless you’re wearing the opposing team’s colors).

When you’re physically there, no matter how far away you’re sitting, you can see some really fun celebrations from the team after big plays, homers, and wins. They’re a ton of lovable goofballs. They’re very entertaining to watch, and you can say “I was there when they dumped an entire cooler of water on Turner,” or whatever other antics they get up to.

Philadelphia is a naturally chaotic city. Our fans are insane. They rush the field after wins. You get to see awesome security guard tackles. You get to bear witness to the absolute madness this fanbase has to offer. It’s wonderfully crazy, you almost don’t want to miss out. Seeing fans crush beer bats and do backflips and paint their faces and wear crazy costumes makes every bit of money you shelled out worth it.
