Mark your calendars. Between Halloween and Thanksgiving, before the holiday chaos really begins, the National Dog Show happens at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, and tickets are now on sale.
Kristen Herrmann for BBGIYep, the dog show broadcast nationwide on Thanksgiving Day is held here locally, and it's a must see for anyone in the area. Here's the thing. It's the best kind of dog show, because it's benched. That (basically) means that you get to meet the dogs. No kidding. All of the handlers are there with the dogs for a certain amount of hours throughout the show, and available for questions from the public, photo and even pet/snuggle requests. You get an up close look at all of the poofy tails and squishy noses and it's really very cool. We're very lucky to have the only benched show in the country held here locally. More pets for us!
Kristen Herrmann for BBGISee up to 2,000 dogs from 205 breeds and varieties as they compete for best of Breed, First in Group and the coveted title of Best in Show. Each day brings different competitions and attractions. There are therapy dogs, athletic dog exhibitions and lots of family-friendly activities and hands-on fun.
November isn't all that far away. You're going to want your National Dog Show tickets, and now you can have them. They just went on sale.
