Target Has An Electronics Trade-In Program, That Can Get You Paid
You can get money from your old electronics with Target’s electronics trade-in program. Many people are discovering that this program exists. If you have any old electronics or gadgets hanging around collecting dust, you may want to go ahead and trade them in.
How does Target’s electronics trade-in program work?
Target’s trade-in program allows customers to send in their old devices, even if they’re in poor condition, and receive payment based on the device’s value. Any items that can’t be salvaged are recycled responsibly.
According to the retailer’s website, customers receive their payout in the form of an electronic Target gift card once the device’s value is confirmed. However, some electronics need to be turned in with their chargers and other accessories to earn full value.
It’s worth mentioning that not all Target locations participate in this program. If your local store doesn’t participate in this program, you can easily access it through the company’s website.
What items are allowed for trade-in?
The store takes several different types of electronics. Some of the qualifying items include phones, laptops, video games, tablets, smart speakers, and others.
To participate in the trade-in program, you’ll need to package up your item, fill out a form, find a participating retailer or Target store, and then send your item off to be analyzed. You can also do this at select Target locations. After the analysis, a value is assigned as a gift card. The value of the gift card depends on the age, condition, and market demand of the device you’re trading.
If you start online, you have to enter the device details on the website to get an estimate. You’ll get a quote for your device and then be sent a prepaid shipping label. If you start in-store, an associate will help you get a quote and pack up your device. After this, you’ll receive your Target gift card either via mail if you use the online option or in person at the store.
In addition to this program, Target offers a car seat trade-in program. It typically takes place in the months of April and May. Those who trade-in an old car seat will be given a 20% coupon to put towards a new seat, stroller, travel system or home gear like play yards, highchairs, swings, rockers, bouncers and so much more, according to the retailer.
Target accepts all types of car seats, including infant car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats, as well as car seats that are expired or damaged.
Other retailers that have similar programs include Best Buy, Microsoft, and Apple.
