Some people go out to dinner on their Anniversary. Some jet off for a romantic getaway. My husband Paul and I are headed to Professional Wrestling this Wednesday (10/25) with AEW at the Liacouras Center on Temple University's campus. We can't wait.
We're not only wrestling fans. We watch AEW for the refs. Well, one particular ref. Bryce Remsberg. Our most famous friend.
Temple Beginnings
My husband and I met Bryce a loooong time ago while attending Temple University, on the very campus that is hosting AEW this Wednesday. Bryce was at the time, and remains one of the nicest people we've ever met. Our friendship has lasted some 20 years now, through weddings, vacations, kids, and job changes too. Which is why we were super psyched when Bryce began his current position as a Professional Wrestling Referee for All Elite Wrestling.

AEW Professional Wrestling
For as long as we've known him, Bryce has been a wrestling referee. We used to go watch him ref various Chikara wrestling matches in the area. Now, as a ref for AEW, we can tune in to watch him on television every week, and he's truly living out his dream. How many people can say that? Bryce can. The phrase, "it couldn't have happened to a nicer person," comes to mind, except it didn't happen to him. He made it happen, and we're so happy for him. Bryce is hard working, super talented, hilarious, and all of these things make for a pretty entertaining ref, and friend. We're proud to know him.

So yeah, Paul and I are celebrating 15 years of marriage on Wednesday by heading over to AEW to watch our friend ref at the Liacouras Center, back on the college campus where our relationship began, and our friendship with Bryce too. I had the chance catch up with Bryce about the upcoming matches and lots more too. Listen to the interview below:
Tickets for the AEW event on Wednesday are on sale HERE.
Doors are at 6:30, and things get started at 7:30. The live TV part happens from 8-10pm. Afterward, stick around for segment they tape for Friday night.

Bryce just did a Q & A on Twitter (X?). Read all of his answers, and follow Bryce HERE. He's also available to book on CAMEO.
8 Iconic ’80s Wrestling Themes
"The Immortal" Hulk Hogan celebrates his birthday today (August 11.) If there's one thing fans the world over can agree on, it's this: Hogan had one of the best wrestling themes of all time.
Of course, the Hulkster wasn't the only wrestler with a great theme. In honor of his birthday, here are eight of the best wrestling themes of the 1980s.
Hulk Hogan
Performed and co-written by Rick Derringer, he told Rolling Stone, "It's become one of the biggest records I've ever made…and I'm the guy who did "Hang On Sloopy" and "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo." (Well...he's not wrong.)
Demolition
Derringer strikes again! His work with the WWF also included this hard rock tag team theme classic.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts
The synth guitar is so menacing, Roberts' theme didn't need lyrics.
“Macho Man” Randy Savage
Savage's use of "Pomp & Circumstance" is so iconic that high school graduates call it the "Macho Man March" instead of the "The Graduation March." (Okay...they don't, BUT THEY SHOULD!)
Mr. Perfect
The only thing more perfect than the late Curt Hennig is this theme.
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Oh, Hot Rod...you're just so incredibly missed.
“The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase
The "Money" hook. That laugh. You can't put a price on the brilliance of this theme.
The Fabulous Freebirds
Last, but certainly not least: No "best '80s wrestling theme" list would be complete without "Badstreet U.S.A." The Freebirds were the first wrestlers to have original entrance music, so without them and the vocal stylings of Michael "P.S." Hayes, this entire list wouldn't be possible.
