Fused Underground celebrates 10 years this Friday! Do you love art? Okay, well, how about super cool horror art? Or even better- super cool horror art, displayed in one of the best bars in Philly and put on by the coolest couple. We all love JERKS Productions and their Fused Underground shows.
If you’re unfamiliar, get to know them. Better late than never. This Friday is a great time to start too. On Friday, October 7th JERKS Productions will be celebrating 10 years of art horror, and booze at Tattooed Mom. Such a great partnership. Over the last decade, JERKS Productions has held a regular art show event called Fused Underground at Tattooed Mom.
Not a stuffy, quiet, hoity-toity art show either. Fused Underground is an art show focused on horror and designed to give artists a space to showcase and sell work while networking with other working artists in a safe environment. It’s a who’s who of quirky, creative types getting together on South Street, and showing off their talents in hands-down one of the most-loved bars in the city.
If you’ve never been to Tattooed Mom, here’s their description on Google: “Relaxed hipster bar with food & drink specials, pool tables plus toys & candy on the bar.” Sure, but not really. This blurb doesn’t nearly do this place justice. The entire two-story spot is covered (and I mean COVERED) in graffiti and stickers, and yes, lots of candy too. There are also multiple bumper cars (inexplicably). The entire place is just bursting with personality and is located on South Street, which as we know, has quite a lot of personality and history in this city. On Fused Underground nights, Tattooed Mom also features lots of really cool horror art.
It’s not just an art show. It’s a community. As of Friday, for ten years, JERKS Productions have premiered their films, raised money for various charities, promoted art and artists in Philadelphia (and beyond), and celebrated many life events, - including the engagement of hosts Jill and Brandon.
So come out on Friday! Eat some candy. See some art. Join the family. Be there as Fused Underground celebrates 10 years at Tattooed Mom. Here’s to 10 more years!

Yes, you read that correctly. Mean Girls The Musical opens on Mean Girls Day, tonight in Philly on October 3rd. The timing is perfect. Do you know what else is perfect? Mean Girls.
Mean Girls is a perfect film. October 3rd is National Mean Girls Day. October 3rd is celebrated by all who will never forget the first conversation between Cady Heron and Aaron Samuels.
It's ALSO the day that Mean Girls The Musical opens in Philadelphia. Mean Girls Day is a Tuesday this year, but you can still wear pink. (Or, wear what you want and then see it again on Wednesday in pink.)
The show opens at the Miller Theater on the Kimmel Cultural Campus tonight at 7:30pm.
Even better? There's a kickoff party happening outside the Miller Theater before the show, for all to enjoy.
Get in loser, we're going to the Kimmel Cultural Campus.

You won't be able to miss it with all the pink lighting, fun-themed photo-ops, pink-themed mocktails & pink donuts provided by the M&M Mobile Bar, and more!
If you don't have tickets, there are some other offerings on the Kimmel Cultural Campus that night. See a Philadelphia Orchestra performance with Tony-, Grammy-, and Emmy-winning star Audra McDonald at 7:30 PM in Verizon Hall or Sir Patrick Stewart: Making It So at 7:00 PM in the Perelman Theater.
Come for the Musical, Stay for the Super Fetch Merch

"On Wednesday's we wear pink." Perfect place to get your Wednesday outfit.
No Really, It's Very Fetch

"Stop trying to make fetch happen! It's not going to happen!" Looks like Gretchen was right and Regina was wrong.
There's Even A Burn Book

Or ya know... make your own. What's the worst that could happen?
The Most Quote-Able Movie, Now a Musical
Even if you've never seen the movie, you're guaranteed to recognize lines from this musical. There are so many quotes from the movie that have become a part of our common lexicon. You know, stuff like: "She doesn't even go here!" or"Is butter a carb?" Maybe you'll leave singing those quotes!

Hear From One of the Stars
I had the chance to interview one of the stars in the show, Ethan Jih-Cook who plays Damian Hubbard. He's from Philly, and has an incredible story of how he ended up in the National Touring Mean Girls Cast. Check it out here:
