Is Aaron Rodgers Delusional?
First of all, let me say that I think Aaron Rodgers is incredibly skilled and talented. I know this headline is a bit crazy, but it’s meant to be funny. Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation. There’s really no denying that he knows what he’s doing on the field, and he’s a force. Rodgers is also a personality. I think that’s one of the reasons why he makes headlines so much. He’s always doing and saying something wild, and that garners attention. But, once in a while, it begs the question, “Is Aaron Rodgers delusional?” Heck, people could think I’m delusional sometimes, so it’s worth asking about Rodgers.
Is Aaron Rodgers Delusional?
No. I don’t think a “Mr. Aaron Rodgers Delusional” exists. I think he’s very smart and knows what he’s doing when making sensational statements. Also, as I mentioned before, I think he’s super talented, and I truly love watching him play. But, check out the latest. On a recent episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” the New York Jets quarterback talked about the time that he and his college teammate Steve Levy were at Levy’s house in 2005 and saw a UFO. He described it as a “large object” in the sky.
“I was getting down to bed,” Rodgers said on the show. “I heard this alarm in the distance going off. It just didn’t seem like normal and I heard some rustling downstairs, so I got up, walk downstairs. It’s a beautiful night. And Steve and his brother and I walked outside and up in the clouds we heard this sound and we saw this tremendously large object moving through the sky. It was like a scene out of ‘Independence Day’ when the ships are coming into the atmosphere and they’re creating this kind of explosion type fire in the sky. We just saw this incredibly large object and froze, as anybody would.”
That’s wild. But, another kind of delusional thing Rodgers is saying is that the New York Jets are one of the only teams that can win the Super Bowl this year. “There’s a part of that is speaking things into existence, the idea of a manifestation,” Rodgers said, via Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports. “The other part is a realistic look at the locker room knowing that there’s anywhere from 6-to-12 teams every year that can probably doit it and we’re one of those 6-to-12.”
The moral of this story is that, no, Aaron Rodgers is not delusional. But, he has some great sound bites.
