Philadelphia Eagles Have One of the Most Valuable Players in the NFL Under 25
The first game of the NFL season takes place on Sept. 7, and it’s the buzzed-about Detroit Lions up against the Kansas City Chiefs. That said, it’s obvious the season is basically here. As for the Philadelphia Eagles, we have bragging rights when it comes to one of our young players. NFL.com has posted its list of the most valuable players in the NFL under 25. One Philadelphia Eagles player has been named one of the most valuable players in the NFL under 25.
The list comes from Nick Shook, who has put together a roster of the top players under 25 years old going into the 2023 season.
Philadelphia Eagles Have One of the Most Valuable Players in the NFL Under 25
Before we get to the Eagles, let’s look at one of my other favorite teams, the Detroit Lions. They’re the underdog kings. It should be no surprise that Aidan Hutchinson is on this list. He’s 22. Shook shares a cool stat, that Hutchinson led all rookies with 9.5 sacks last season. I personally think he should have been Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, but that honor went to Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, who is also exceptionally great. “Hutchinson’s three interceptions further underscore how much of an impact he can have on a game,” Shook writes. “I can’t wait to see what he does in Year 2.” I can’t wait, either.
Now, let’s talk about the Philadelphia Eagles. We also have one player under 25 on the list, and that’s Jordan Davis, who is 23 years old. “Davis was playing an important but understated role for the Eagles last season, occupying blockers and stuffing run lanes,” Shook writes. You never know when you’re going to get a gem. Jalen Hurst was the 53rd overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He was going to be the team’s third-string quarterback but became the second-string very quickly.
