Pennsylvania Has One of the Most Haunted Places in America
Fall is always the perfect time to start thinking about all things haunted. But, really, you can get into ghost hunting and scary stuff any time of the year. I have friends who love ghost hunting, but it’s totally not my thing. That said, one Pennsylvania area is among the most haunted places in America. It’s a good one, too, and totally makes sense.
Travel and Leisure Magazine has put together a list of the “20 Most Haunted Places in America and the Ghosts That Call Them Home.” In it, they highlight 20 American areas that, reportedly, are haunted. Scary stuff. “Paranormal travel is more common than you think and intrepid ghost hunters often flock to the most haunted places, known for spirit sightings at eerie locations not typically found in guidebooks,” they state. “Tragic past events have allegedly caused ghosts to linger in hotels, restaurants, parks, and even airports.”

So, which Pennsylvania area is among the most haunted places in America? Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It’s really not surprising that Gettysburg is on this list, since it’s often referred to has one of the spookiest places in America. It’s obviously very historical, too. “Areas where historic tragedies took place are often considered paranormal hot spots, and the site of the Civil War’s bloodiest battle is regarded as one of the world’s most haunted places,” Travel and Leisure states. “Some report seeing the ghosts of soldiers on the battlefield.” They also add that the local inns and a nearby farm are also rumored to be haunted. That’s spooky stuff. It’s a great place to visit any time of the year, because they offer year-round ghost tours where visitors can learn about the ghosts and creatures that still haunt the land.
