Dancing with the Mummers Stars Competition
Dancing with the Mummers Stars. Philly’s own (better) version of the Dancing with the Stars show from TV. This one is right here, live at the iconic Mummers Museum in South Philadelphia. There’s a version for kids too!
The way it works is similar to the show. They pair a choreographer with a Mummer, and the best dance pair wins. Oh, and it’s for a great cause. You can also make a donation to the Fancy Brigade Association any time HERE.
When?
Catch the show in person on Friday, April 28th at 7pm.
Where?
1100 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
Ticket Information
Dancing with the Mummers Stars tickets are $45 and can be purchased HERE. I’ll be a judge this year! Be sure to say hello if you go. In my family, we never miss a chance to see the Mummers, any time of year. My daughter Trudy saw her very first Mummers Parade this year and LOVED it. Not even a year old and she was clapping along to all of the performances. Maybe one day she’ll be strutting down Broad Street along with them. Which brings me to the Juniors version…
Dancing with the Mummers Stars Junior
Anyone who has ever attended the Mummers Parade in Philadelphia knows that it’s a family affair. Each Mummers group is filled with generations of family members, and many of them starting their strut as kids. Check out the Dancing with the Mummers Stars adult competition on April 28th, and be sure to come back on May 7th for the smaller, cuter version. They’re holding a junior competition!
Dancing with the Mummers Stars Jr. will be the afternoon of Sunday, May 7th from 3pm-6:30pm. This competition features juniors 16 years old and under from the Pennsport School of Dance.
Tickets for the junior competition can be purchased HERE.
