PennDOT Permanently Closing 95 North Ramp In Northeast Philadelphia
PennDOT is permanently closing 95 north ramp in northeast Philadelphia. Get the details and what this may mean for your commute.
When things like this happen I always try to take a deep breath and say, well a massive organization like PennDOT must know more about how to handle these things than I do. I talk on the radio for a living, so the people who run transportation for an entire (very large) state, must know what they are doing, right? It’s so tough sometimes because 95 has been such a pain for YEARS. Obviously not as bad as The Schuylkill, but close. The Schuylkill is wild because it was supposed to be a very small road that a few cars drove on it here and there. No one had the foresight to realize millions of people would move out to the suburbs and ONE very small two line highway would be the way for people to get into the city. I always say, we have the iPhone, but we can’t figure out how to fix 76. Anyway, that’s a story for another day. This is about 95.
Let me just add it’s already annoying when you’re coming from Jersey over the Betsy Ross Bridge and you can’t stay on 95 into the city. You’re forced to get off the exit and take a detour around Fishtown.
Here are the details from phillyvoice.com:
“Exit 27 to Bridge Street/Harbison Avenue will be shut down for construction projects, with traffic directed to the Aramingo Avenue off-ramp. When the northbound off-ramp at Exit 27 closes, northbound I-95 and westbound Betsy Ross Bridge traffic heading for Bridge Street, Tacony Street and Harbison Avenue will begin using the Exit 26 off-ramp to Aramingo Avenue at the adjacent Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange, officials said.”

Chick-fil-A Discontinuing Longtime Side Dish from Menu
I got worried it was the Kale Crunch Salad, because that is literally the BEST! Then I was worried it was the fries, but then I realized that would be insane. As of today, the side choices at Chick-fil-A are: Waffle Potato Fries, Kale Crunch Salad, Fruit Cup, Mac & Cheese, Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Greek Yogurt Parfait, Waffle Potato Chips, Buddy Fruits Applesauce. However, starting in April, one item will be gone. They said it’s to simplify the menu, although what’s more simple than a side salad?
“Serving guests is at the heart of all we do at Chick-fil-A,” reads a statement issued by Chick-fil-A, Inc., concerning the salad’s discontinuation. “In order for our Restaurant Team Members to continue to deliver quality food and signature hospitality, at times we have to make difficult decisions to help simplify our menu.”
Chick-fil-A has definitely made some significant changes in the last few years, specifically that they added breakfast, which is a big hit. In recent weeks they announced another huge item, their brand new Cauliflower Sandwich. There has been no word if the new plant based sandwich will be available in all locations, but the stores that do have it, many customers seems very happy with it. A company representative said: “We are committed to chicken, and chicken is the hero,” said Leslie Neslage, director of Menu and Packaging for Chick-fil-A. “But… it was becoming more and more prevalent that customers really want to find ways to increase vegetables in their diet.”
What we need to do though is give some major love to their sauces. The Chick-fil-A sauces are literally top tier. Every single sauce is delicious. Everyone raves about the Chick-fil-A Sauce, but the Honey Roasted BBQ sauce is literally the best sauce ever. Obviously shoutout to the regular Barbeque, Garlic and Herb Ranch, Honey Mustard, Polynesian, Sweet & Spicy Sriracha, Zesty Buffalo.
