Pennsylvania Fast-Food Restaurant Bans Diners Of A Certain Age
A Pennsylvania fast-food restaurant bans diners of a certain age.
The decision comes after several incidents of poor behavior, disrespect to employees, and mistreatment of property.
A Chick-fil-A in Royersford, PA is banning diners under the age of 16 years old from visiting the restaurant without an adult.
The franchise posted to Facebook on Wednesday (Feb 22.) addressing the issue and explaining their decision stating “We contemplated long and hard before posting this, but decided it was time.”
The post goes on to explain the children and teens are loud and use explicit language, which goes against the family friendly atmosphere Chick-fil-A strives to be. Food and trash are often left on tables and the floor, decorations are stolen, and property is vandalized.
Due to the numerous incidents the Royersford location has decided to implement the rule for unaccompanied minors under the age of 16.
The restaurant continued by saying “Parents, we are not blaming you. Children and teens are learning to navigate the world free from supervision and often push the boundaries. We simply can’t let them push those boundaries anymore at our restaurant. We encourage you to talk to your children and ask about behaviors they have seen and perhaps participated in.”
If anyone 16 and older does enter the restaurant without an adult they may order food but must take it to go.
