4 Pennsylvania Hospitals Make ‘America’s 50 Best Hospitals’ List
If you’re looking for the best hospital care in Pennsylvania, there’s a new list out that names four regional hospitals among the best in America.
The list comes from HeathGrades.com. They conducted a study to determine America’s 50 best hospitals, which means these health care providers are in the top 1% of hospitals in the nation for “consistently providing overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures year over year.”
As for methodology, Heath Grades states, “To help consumers evaluate and compare hospital performance specific to specialty service lines and specialty focus areas, Healthgrades communicates performance in two ways—through ratings and awards. To measure performance and evaluate hospitals for overall clinical excellence, Healthgrades used Medicare inpatient data from the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) file purchased from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for years 2019 through 2021. Patient outcomes data for 31 conditions or procedures were analyzed for virtually every hospital in the country.” In other words, a lot of research went into this tally.
So, what awesome hospitals are close to home? In Pennsylvania, those hospitals are Lancaster General Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Reading Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center. All of those were named inside the top 50 best hospitals in America, in the study. Find the full list here.
