Give Your Christmas Tree to Goats
You may not have seen this in your tree’s future when you picked out your Christmas tree this season, but it’s a win-win. Give your Christmas tree to goats, as a part of the 5th Annual Christmas Tree-Cycle Event with Philly Goat Project. You lose a tree, and a bunch of cutie-pie goats gain a snack.
Join Philly Goat Project on the farm this Saturday, January 7th and next Saturday, January 21st too. There are rain dates on each of the following Sundays. You can drop off your old Christmas tree to be used as wood chips or as delicious snacks for goats. Just be sure to take all the ornaments and decorations off first. No wreaths or pesticides either. There’s a $20 suggested donation per tree, which goes to a number of great causes .
They take cash, Venmo, PayPal and bring a little extra for merch too. The latest Philly Goat Project 2023 calendar is out, and for $15 you can spend the next year looking at fun photos of goats at different Philadelphia landmarks all over the city.
Plan some time too. This is not just dumping your tree off (which I mean you COULD), but you can also enjoy a petting zoo a stroll around the farm, a fire pit and free hot cocoa and s’mores. There’s a special needs quiet tent too. Make a day of it! Certainly beats dragging your sad old tree out to the curb.
