Rod Stewart’s 11-Year-Old Son Rushed to Hospital After Collapsing Following Soccer Match
Rod Stewart experienced every parent’s nightmare recently when his 11-year-old son collapsed after a soccer match.
Stewart told FourFourTwo magazine (as transcribed by The Daily Mail), “We thought my boy [Aiden] had a heart attack.” The iconic singer did not disclose when this terrifying moment happened, but Aiden was rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance.
“He was going blue and was unconscious until he calmed down,” detailed Stewart, whose son plays for a Young Hoops Under-12s soccer team. “It was scary, but it turned out to be a panic attack. The lad wanted to do well, pulled on the Hoops in Scotland for his dad.”
Stewart noted his son’s collapse wasn’t the only incident on the pitch that day. “Another boy fell backwards and banged his head – he’s still not back,” he said. “In all of my days watching football, that’s the only time two ambulances had been called.”
Aiden is Stewart’s youngest son with current/third wife Penny Lancaster. The couple’s oldest son, Alastair, is 16. Stewart and Lancaster married in 2007.
