Pennsylvania isn't the first state you might think of when thinking about billionaires, but we do have a few. Now, Forbes has just released its list of the 400 wealthiest Americans for 2022, and sure enough, a handful of Pennsylvania residents are on the list.

Before we get to the Pennsylvania names, if you're wondering who's No. 1, it's Elon Musk. Are you surprised? I didn't think so. Musk "cofounded six companies including electric car maker Tesla, rocket producer SpaceX and tunneling startup Boring Company," according to Forbes. Jeff Bezos comes in at No. 2, followed by Bill Gates, Larry Ellison and Warren Buffett to round out the top five.

In the story, Forbes notes that, "America’s 400 richest people are a combined $500 billion poorer this year. But not all U.S. billionaires are feeling the pain. With a lower minimum net worth to make the cut—$2.7 billion, $200 million less than last year—20 newcomers have joined The Forbes 400 list for the first time. While that’s less than half of the 44 who joined in 2021, it's an increase from the 18 new entrants who earned a spot in Covid-plagued 2020." Interesting.

Read on for the handful of Pennsylvania residents who made it onto Forbers' list of the 400 wealthiest Americans for 2022.
