Scuba Tooth Fairy at Adventure Aquarium
Scuba Tooth Fairy at Adventure Aquarium’s Shark Tooth Summer. So what exactly does that mean? Exactly what it sounds like.
It’s a celebration of the Aquarium’s super collection of sharks and their “jaw-some” teeth too.
The average shark loses about 35,000 teeth in their lifetime. Wondering where all those teeth go when they fall out? Introducing the Scuba Tooth Fairy, who skillfully finds and scoops up fallen shark teeth in the sand of their Ocean Realm exhibit (home to an endangered great hammerhead shark). Cool huh!?
The Aquarium’s collection of sharks also includes sandbar sharks, sand tiger sharks, Pacific black tip sharks, nurse sharks, silky sharks, whitespotted bamboo sharks, brownbanded bamboo sharks, and epaulette sharks.
Lots of sharks, and therefore LOTS of teeth. The Scuba Tooth Fairy is quite busy, so there’s a good chance you’ll catch the action at your next visit to the Aquarium (especially if you go around midday). We have it on good authority the Scuba Tooth Fairy dives daily at 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 2:45 p.m.
Adventure Aquarium’s Shark Tooth Summer, a month long celebration from August 4th through September 5th.
