Philadelphia Music Legend Bobby Rydell Dies at 79
Bobby Rydell has passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 79.
The music legend and Philadelphia native was well-known for his hits “Wildwood Days,” “Wild One,” “Volare,” among many others. He was a teen idol for so many in the early 1960s while also appearing in the movie Bye Bye Birdie in 1963.
CBS Philly confirmed the news of Rydell’s death today (April 5). Rydell would have turned 80 later this month on April 26.
He is survived by his wife Linda Hoffman, daughter Jennifer Ridarelli, son Robert Ridarelli, and five grandchildren.
A cause of death has not yet been revealed.
