The Washington Football Team Gets New Name
Back in 2020, the NFL team known as the Washington Redskins announced plans to change their name after decades of debate over the name and logo, which many say are offensive towards Native Americans.
They became “The Washington Football Team” and stayed that way for two seasons, the first of which they won the NFC East and went to the playoffs only to lose to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Tom Brady.
Today, the team announced its complete rebrand as the Washington Commanders.
One legacy. One unified future.
