How to Make the Dalgona Candy from Squid Game – Two Ingredients!
Want to make the Dalgona candy from Squid Game at home? It’s easy!
Since launching the series on September 17th, a pretty good portion of the WORLD watched Squid Game on Netflix. The participants play a number of simple games from their childhood, with some absolutely horrific consequences for losing. One of the games involved punching out a shape from a type of South Korean candy called Dalgona.
Here’s the recipe if you’d like to try making it yourself. Possibly the easiest recipe ever.
Ingredients:
6 Tablespoons Sugar
A touch ( 1/4 teaspoon or so) Baking Soda
That’s it!
Directions:
Add the sugar to a sauce pan, and then heat at medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and turns amber in color. Remove from heat.
Add the baking soda. Don’t add too much!
Stir to combine mixture until fluffy, and then pour onto a non-stick surface (greased pan or parchment paper).
Flatten with another greased pan, or flat surface that won’t stick.
Cut out shapes with cookie cutter, but careful not to cut all the way through.
Allow the candy to cool, and then play!
Try to cut out the shapes without breaking the delicate candy.
A fun activity for kids (or anyone), and 100% safer than the way they played on the show.
If you try this without having to go through the trouble of making it yourself, local restaurant Crunchik’n is selling the Dalgona candy featured in Squid Game for a limited time at their shops. Find their location information HERE.
