Stevie Nicks has canceled all of her scheduled show dates for 2021 due to rising Covid cases across the United States.

In a statement shared on social media, Nicks said, "These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made. I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising Covid cases should be of concern to all of us. While I'm vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the 5 performances I had planned for 2021."

Nicks continued, "Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer. I'm devastated and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022."

Nicks has been very open about her concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic. The singer has shared entries from her personal journal to social media during the pandemic. In July 2020, she urged followers to mask up writing, "We must make it our mission to fight the virus." In August 2020, Nicks called the battle against COVID-19 "A real 'American Horror Story'" and also mentioned, "If I get it, I will probably never sing again. Put me on a ventilator and I will be hoarse for the rest of my life -- I don't have much time...I am 72 years old."
