Grand Opening: Philadelphia Soccer 2026 Pitch at Independence Visitors Center!
Celebrate Philly’s love of soccer and help bring the biggest sporting event in the world to the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection by visiting the Philadelphia Soccer 2026 Pitch at Independence Visitors Center! Open June 29 through October 31, “The Pitch” is a place for fans of all ages and skill levels to show their love for the game with soccer challenges and interactives, learn more about Philadelphia’s bid to host matches, and refuel. Free Museum Day at the American Swedish Museum
Visit the American Swedish Historical Museum in South Philadelphia for free as a part of the Wawa Welcome America’s Free Museum & Attraction Series. Founded in 1926, it is the oldest Swedish museum in the United States. The Museum’s 20,000 square foot interior houses twelve exhibition galleries, a reference library, and more. Free Museum Day at Carpenters’ Hall
Carpenters’ Hall, the Committee of Seventy and Young Involved Philadelphia present a provocative discussion on what ordinary citizens, especially young people, can do to nurture civic unity and address shared challenges.
Just two blocks from Independence Hall, Carpenters’ Hall was the site of the First Continental Congress in 1774, one of the primary events that led to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We are free and open to the public Tuesday-Sunday, with no advance tickets or registration needed for on-site visitors. Story Art with Parkway Pals with the Free Library of Philadelphia
Children ages 1-8 and their caregivers can enjoy a storytime plus a take-home craft activity at the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Story Art with Parkway Pals at Sister Cities Park, on the east corner of Logan Square, across the street from the front entrance of the Parkway Central Library. Children ages 2 and under and their caregivers can enjoy songs, dance, and fun explorations of rhythm and movement at the Free Library of Philadelphia’s In-person Music and Movement at Shakespeare Park, directly across the street from the front entrance of the Parkway Central Library. Free Museum Day at the Eastern State Penitentiary
Eastern State Penitentiary invites visitors to experience its new program Night Tours: Summer Twilight for free the evening of Wednesday, June 30. Admission includes all daytime programming – an audio tour narrated by actor Steve Buscemi, artist installations, exhibits – and more. The Fair Chance Beer Garden, featuring Triple Bottom Brewing Company, offers opportunities to connect over hands-on activities that prompt conversation on issues of justice today. A new, digital artist installation by Andrea Walls, co-commissioned by Mural Arts Philadelphia, is projected onto Eastern State’s façade starting at 8:00 p.m. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Beginning at 7:00 PM, enjoy an exciting jazz performance by Philadelphia’s Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, courtesy of the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, prior to a FREE screening of Hidden Figures, a true story of three brilliant African American women at NASA who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history. Movie will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Free Museum Day at the National Constitution Center
As part of Wawa Welcome America, Wawa invites all visitors to enjoy free admission at the National Constitution Center and an array of patriotic festivities surrounding the Fourth of July—including the interactive Independence Day show, exploring the history of the Declaration of Independence and how the definition of “We the People” has expanded since Thomas Jefferson penned the famous words “…all men are created equal…” in 1776. The National Constitution Center’s Independence Week programming continues with free museum admission on July 4, plus an array of patriotic festivities including the interactive Independence Day show and family-friendly programs including craft activities, trivia games, and more. Wawa Hoagie Day
Wawa Hoagie Day is back! Enjoy FREE Wawa hoagies at Wawa’s historic hoagie day that tributes to our Local Heroes. You can also enjoy a performance by the Ambassadors Jazztet of the United States Army Field Band. There are also over 920 stores chainwide will celebrate Hoagie Day in their local communities by building and donating more than 50,000 hoagies to local first responders and healthcare heroes serving their neighborhoods, all in one day!

Black Gotham Experience
Celebrate the Juneteenth and July 4th holidays with this evening mixer at the African American Museum in Philadelphia. Curated by Kamau Ware of the Black Gotham Experience, this event looks at the founding of our country through the lens of the African American experience – highlighting Philly makers and creatives through performance, conversation, film and music. Treat yourself to savory bites from your favorite food truck while immersing yourself in this incredibly moving night at AAMP.

Wawa Welcome America kicks off the celebrations for our nation’s birthday weekend at the Museum that celebrates liberty every day of the year with People Speak, a weekend-long celebration of our inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The National Liberty Museum is offering free admission to the Museum and our newly opened exhibitions Graphic Content and Caretoons 2021 on Friday, July 2nd, 10 AM – 5 PM. Our America Now

Wawa Welcome America joins forces with the Barnes Foundation and Mural Arts Philadelphia for Our America Now & Barnes on the Block! This free block party celebrates diverse multi-sensory stories and offers something for visitors of all ages—from a variety of food trucks and a beer garden by Constellation Culinary Group to art-making demos, a film screening by BlackStar Film Festival, and live performances by several notable poets, including Philadelphia Poet Laureate Trapeta B. Mayson and Ursula Rucker. Curated by We The People Stage with the Barnes and Mural Arts Philadelphia, this event is designed to inspire guests to share their own stories from this unique moment in our shared American history. Guests can also enjoy free admission to the Barnes collection and the critically acclaimed Soutine / de Kooning: Conversations in Paint exhibition. Registration is required for collection and exhibition access, and capacity is limited. Free tickets will be available online beginning at 9 am on Friday, July 2.
