‘Almost Famous’ Soundtrack Getting Massive 20th Anniversary Reissue
Almost Famous continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a grand reissue of its soundtrack, which can only be described in three words: “It’s all happening!”
Due out July 9, the reissue will be available in a variety of formats and bundles including the following:

Compared to the original soundtrack release, there is a significant increase in the tracklisting, especially in the Super Deluxe version of the reissue. Per the Super Deluxe version’s listing, it features “…forty-seven songs from the film including all five Led Zeppelin songs, Fleetwood Mac, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Neil Young and many more. Unreleased songs include “Tiny Dancer (Almost Famous Version)” newly mixed with Elton John and cast recreating the film’s emotional scene; the unique mix & edit for The Who’s “Amazing Journey / Sparks (Almost Famous Version);” Jeff Bebe’s hotel room guitar groove “Untitled;” and fresh from his personal archives, the previously unheard, newly mixed Neil Young live acoustic performance of “Cortez The Killer;” along with thirty-one more unreleased recordings.”

Additionally, the Super Deluxe version also contains, “…extra bonus audio tracks include film dialog quotes, all six Stillwater songs, seven demos for the Stillwater songs by Nancy Wilson and Peter Frampton, three backstage jams by Stillwater members and twenty-one of Nancy Wilson’s brilliant and highly-sought-after original soundtrack score selections – fourteen of which weren’t in the film and have never-been-heard-before.”
There are also a ton of fun extras available in these various formats, particularly in the deluxe versions of the reissue. Among those extras is a 40-page photo book, prop-replica backstage passes, a Stillwater concert poster, the first-ever complete William Miller cover story on Stillwater as a 1973 Rolling Stone newsprint and so much more.
