Huey Lewis Music Serves as Inspiration of New Fox Series
The music of Huey Lewis serves as the inspiration behind a new series in the works at Fox.
Per Deadline, the hour-long romantic comedy series is currently known as “Untitled Huey Lewis Project.” Deadline describes the show’s concept saying, “Each season of the Untitled Huey Lewis Project is a self-contained romantic comedy inspired by the music of a beloved pop star. Lewis sets the beat as the inspiration of Season 1, which interweaves a present-day love story with a teen rom-com set in 1986.”

In addition to Lewis himself, who will serve as an executive producer on the series, the other forces behind the show include Leila Gerstein, who is best known as the creator of The CW’s Hart of Dixie and for her work as a producer on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale ,and Aaron Kaplan, who’s the head of independent production company Kapital Entertainment.
Deadline also added about the series, “It is conceived as an homage to the great rom-coms of the ‘80s and ‘90s and a reminder that the Power of Love is, indeed, a curious thing.” (We see what you did there, Deadline! Very clever!)
